Music Video Finale

P1T3 Young Gospel Mashup from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

Our Final project is here.... Music videos! Oh my the year has gone by so fast. So many projects and yet the last one is here. For our music video we are doing the mash-up of Young Volcanos by fall out boy and This is Gospel by Panic! at the disco. The mash-up is called Young Gospel and our idea was to have each segment or verse of the song done by each individual person the team, thats a bit confusing to put into words but I hope you can understand lol.

My favorite "fast-edit montage sequence" is in the beginning 5.6 seconds. We made the decision to take randomized clips of each person in the group of us looking sad, walking, etc. and put them all together into a short clip sequence, in my opinion I think it looks awesome! The timing of cutting to each clip goes great with the beat of the song, it makes a lot of sense and makes our beginning of the video very strong. I hope you like it as much as I do!

We all agreed that this project should show our best work because it's the last project of the year and we should show the whole class and Mr. Sanderl all of our knowledge from this year's GT class. We really focused on making our shots as clear as possible and making sure they are at the highest quality, also we are really trying to edit the shots to match the beat of the song. My favorite part is definitely the beginning and I'm sure that if you watch our music video you'll see why. Thank you all to whoever has read my blog the past year! I had so much fun in this class and I'm so sad that it's over.

Character Development

What kind of person are you? I'm still figuring out who I am but I think I have a pretty good idea about the topic. If I had to define myself I would say weird. Not a bad weird.. I hope.. People tell me I'm a good weird that makes them laugh so I hope it's true. One of my humorous imperfections is that when I get REALLY hungry I sneeze, I like to call it my hunger sneeze. I know it's my hunger sneeze and not just a plain old sneeze because before it happens my stomach grumbles, I sneeze and then my stomach grumbles again. Now that I put that into words I realize that it's pretty weird😂. Anyways, we have a new project here in GT... *drumroll*... GIFs! We have to create a GIF of ourselves and exaggerate some of our character traits.

The character trait I plan on exaggerating is my weirdness. I can't even explain my weirdness, sometimes I'll randomly start laughing for no reason or I'll randomly make exaggerated moves. Our GIFs consisted of three pictures that Mr. Sanderl took of us, facing front, back, and sideways. In my GIF I would like tojust make a simple head bobble and maybe more my arms a bit. To do these actions we will be using PUPPET WARP!! :)

It was a complicated process to make my GIF, because I was absent the day that he showed the demo to a GIF but when I came back Mr. Sanderl helped me catch up. So in order to make our gift we had to take a front, back and side. We used photoshop to create our animated GIF, first we had to cut out our pictures with the quick selection tool, then you open the animation window, next we use puppet warp and select pin points on ourselves and carefully move a part of our body. Every time you move a body part you make new layers. Sorry if it's complicated lol... I like how my GIF turned out and I am pretty proud of it, I ended up just doing a little head bobble and move my hands a little. Anyways.. Thanks for reading! Have a nice day!

.MOV Film Festival

Hello! Another project, and this time with teams! Okay so this project is a sitcom, and my team is Jasmine and Leilia. We decided to do a high school musical spoof, it's a spoof because we wanted to show that high school isn't what it looks like in movies. High school is stressful! VERY STRESSFUL so were showing students stressing in high school in a funny way.

Our message is to entertain our audience. My team, and I are making a sitcom, our sitcom will be a high school musical spoof. We want to show that school really isn't like how they portrey in the movies, school well, is stressful. Our plan is to have our actors get stressed out together and randomly break into songs (which will of course be parodies)

My team has faced many challenges with this project, we had a hard time coming up with an idea, weren't able to film, and missed our filming deadline. Our overall biggest problem was getting permission from the high school to use their campus and after asking the high school we tried the elementary school, and they declined us too. We ended up missing our filming deadline, but we asked our public library and were able to film there! Unfortunately we only got half of our B-roll and it wasn't enough to make a story out of.

Tiny Spherical Worlds

Composite images!! What are they? They are multiple pictures put together to make a panorama.. well basically.. Anyways 1 picture is most definitely NOT enough. Why only take one picture when you can take multiple and morph them into one? Plus you can always do super awesome things with your composite images! Such as.....TINY SPHERICAL WORLDS!

Okay so in GT we are making a Polar and spherical tiny worlds. A polar tiny world looks more like a planet in space and a Spherical tiny world looks a bit more like looking into a 3D sphere and it's also inverted. Making the difference between a spherical and polar world is just one simple step, and that is flipping it upside down!

When we covert our panorama into a polar or spherical world it basically wraps itself around to make a circular shape, which means there is often times a line in the middle of the picture connecting each side of the panorama. To get rid of this line we have to use the clone stamp tool in photoshop to blend  together the different colors to make it realistic. Im having a lot of fun with this project, they are a bit challenging but at the end it looks super cool!

Hockney Style Joiners

Hello! So back in GT class we have another project *drumroll* ... PHOTOMONTAGES!!
Okay so Mr. Sanderl talked a lot about this famous artist David Hockney and he is our inspiration to our photomontages. Our photomontages are different from David Hockney because his are a lot more difficult than ours because we're only just starting out.

Images, pictures, photos. They're all the same, so many words for the same meaning. Pictures can send lots of different messages, positive and negative. There's so many different ways a picture could be taken, you really have to think about your audience before you post because it could either make a  person feel really good or it could effect them as being something bad and insulting.

My final photomontage is a sequence of photos taken of one scenery, the scenery is of a street that shows a mountain in the background, its a sunny day that really brought me joy. Sunny, clear days make me happy! They make me want to go outside and adventure, so I thought that this day really captured that feeling of happiness and joy. I would really like to send the message that there's always room to be happy and that you should never take a day for granted because you never know if you'll get tomorrow.

2016 Aspirations

Heyyy y'all! I just came back from the mid-west! ah yes winter break is over, unfortunately. So Merry New Year and Happy Christmas, five goals I hope to attain is to stop procrastinating, strive higher to reach my goals, stay positive, get my grades up and to stop overthinking little things. Some of these goals I have a hard time keeping up with, and some I just feel like I need to work on.

My most important goal would have to be a mix of getting my grades up and to stop procrastinating, because I struggle with procrastination which effects my grades. I would really like to get into a good college and in order to do so I need to get good grades. Procrastination is a hard thing to work on but I know that I need to change my habits and get it together. I have a few C's and need to get those up so that I can have a successful high school and college career.

To stop procrastinating I will force myself to do my work and everything else on time and when I need to do it. I will motivate myself to strive higher to achieve my goals, not let the negative things bring me down to stay positive and I will focus harder on my school work to get my grades up. I will stop overthinking small things my clearing my mind and realizing that it's not the end of the world. My plan to getting good grades is to put down my phone and electronics and to really focus on my assignments. I am going to take this seriously so that I can feel better about myself when this year is over:) I hope to accomplish these goals by the end of the school year so that I can start fresh in high school!

Scratch Game Design

In our most recent project we constructed our own games! I wanted everything to be paced smoothly and correctly so I had to do a lot of research to make that happen. The goal of the game is to see how many points out of 12 you can get in the amount of 60 seconds. For every 5 seconds you stay away from the vampire mouse thing you win a point. I tried to make this somewhat simple so the the viewers of my first game could understand it better also because it was my first time making a game.

My chase game was a smoothly paced game, the sprites move in an evenly fashion and don't stutter when moving. The chase game that I made also switches backgrounds every ten seconds, I wanted the game to switch backgrounds every once in a while so that the player wouldn't get bored. Another thing my game features is that  the sprites both say something at the beginning of the game to kind of give you a heads up that the game is going to start.

I believe that my best code in my chase game was making the backgrounds change at a certain time, I had to do thorough research to get this code and it's my longest line of code. My biggest bug fix when making my chase game was making the sprites move smoothly, at first i was having a hard time getting the sprites to move right and left. I finally found a way to make them move and then I had to make them run smoothly.
